BILL SHANKLY - 29.9.1981!

Η ανάρτηση αφιερώνεται στον Θεόδωρο Α. Πέππα

OUR HERO, BILL SHANKLY

He was born in bonny Scotland
And he played the football game
He came to Liverpool in '59
To help us win again.

Then with his mighty Red Army
He marched to victory
He was the legend of his time –
Our hero, Bill Shankly.

  1. Εκπληκτικό!
Για την πινακιδα πριν απο τον αγωνιστικο χωρο This-is-Anfield :
'This is to remind our lads who they're playing for, and to remind the opposition who they're playing against.'
Και προς τον τερματοφύλακά του: "Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

  2. Συν For a player to be good enough to play for Liverpool, he must be prepared to run through a brick wall for me then come out fighting on the other side.
    Aλλά και
Above all, I would like to be remembered as a man who was selfless, who strove and worried so that others could share the glory, and who built up a family of people who could hold their heads up high and say "We're Liverpool."
